Exact numbers have been difficult to ascertain as this administration has not been forthright with accurate information. What we do know is that everyone that has been deported was not here illegally nor a criminal. Lives have been destroyed and the social and economic impact is being felt here in the US and across the world
In 2023, remittances from migrants in the U.S. amounted to $63.3 billion, serving as a vital source of income for many Mexicans who rely on remittances for basic necessities, education and medical expenses. Small businesses also rely on remittance-fueled spending. Unfortunately, this lack of income will lead to increases in poverty, job losses and decreased local economic activity which could spawn the desire for groups to migrate again. So, we are partnering with the vulnerable!
